About the brand: Patanjali is an India based global consumer brand that cherishes pure, natural and Indian elements into their products. Being makers of a wide variety of products, ayurvedic medicines, herbal home care, and natural personal care. They stand for ayurvedic, herbal and organic products for all needs of the user.
About the concept: Patanjali is a brand that celebrates Indian culture and tradition, we thought of adding a glimpse of same in different materials as per the client's need for manufacturing, one was carved in wood which gives a more authentic and traditional look and feels and another in plastic suitable for injection molded for mass manufacturing purposes.
My role was to come up with various concepts that suit the brand image and stands out in the current market. The team consisted of a toothbrush expert, research and development unit, design engineers and marketing team of Patanjali.
Learning
I learned about various perceptions of consumers with toothbrush existing in the market and how to create a need in the market as per the brand image. The existing toothbrushes are more or less similar and to break that monotony and come up with something which is completely different was a challenge. Also, if consumers would accept this design was a risk that we took.

explorations
Patanjali being an ayurvedic brand that promotes a system of medicine with historical roots mainly in the Indian subcontinent, we thought of taking connecting the look of the toothbrush directly to Ayurveda. Various inspirations were driven from the culture, -- and --- which the brand is all about.

Taking inspiration from Indian architecture which is all about intricate and delicate carving.

add sketches

A concept in plastic for ease of injection molding which will be convenient for mass manufacturing thus simplifying the pattern onto the toothbrush too. Various colour options, as well as few pattern options especially for kids, were provided.

Here are few other explorations, wherein, the orientation and placement of the pattern could be as per the liking and various other patterns and forms can be added for kids.
